Supposed to live at Bluefield, Carrickfergus, Belfast, Ireland. He married at Knockagh (or lived there) 1837 Elizabeth McSkimmin b 12.7.1819 d 16/8/1893 age 77 yrs. She was the daughter of Samuel McSkimmin, Carrickfergus Historian & Weaver b 1775 d 14/2/1843 Age 68 yrs. & Nancy Goodacre b 1780 d 7/5/1857 age 77 yrs. Hugh had a son Hugh C Calderwood b 22/9/1853 Carrickfergus, Ireland. Both worked at shipyards Hugh C emigrated to Australia 1872 'St James' and landed in Brisbane, Aust, age 19. He supposedly had a sister Elizabeth who married a Paul Jones, a Pirate! (but this might be a story!). His son Frederick b Aust 1888 went to Belfast to get his master's certificate as his father insisted that was the best place in the word to train. Whilst there he married Sarah Margaret ('Maggie') YOUNGER. Both can out to Aust and settled here. Are there any records of any/all of this?
