Anytime from Scotland 1600s, all the way through a John McComb, wife Jane Cochrane, executed the Power of Attorney recorded at Trenton New. Jersey, Nov. 24 1746. (This John McComb is my "8th grandfathers brother"). We ventured from Scotland off into Antrim Ireland somewhere between the years 1619 and 1710 (the life span of my 10th grandfather, 91 years old ). They lived at Dunturkey, Ballymere, Parish of Ballymere Co. Antrim, 12 miles N. of Belfast on a farm rented from town. His son (my 9th grandfather) was a Linen draper also born in Scotland. We were on U.S. land by 1732.(this is before there was a U.S. president) We came in through Delaware Maryland, had a brief stay in N.Y. then branched around to Cumberland Co. Wa, Derry Pa, Middle Spring Pa, and Lancaster Co., also whats known now as Jefferson County, NY. and some other areas. There were 7 brothers plus (my 8th grandfather) that came initially. History has confirmed 4 of them in America, my line included. Some went to Chicago and Canada and changed the spelling to Macomb, and later McComb(s) in some cases. Im finally knocking on Scotland's front door." Any info is greatly appreciated, Im also researching Wallace and Gordon connections to the McComb family in Scotland and Ireland.
