Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/DYC.2ACE/1212.1.2.1.1.1.1 Message Board Post: So glad to hear from you again. Where did Robert Carson live? Did he get a land grant? How many children did he have? The manner in which his death was entered in the bible makes me think that he is not buried in the old Carson cemetery here near North, SC and that the entry was made at a later date. Bible entry reads: Robert Carson, died 27 Nov 1816, in his 49th year, son of Rebecca Barron (or Barren). All three brothers, James, Robert and Henry, are listed this way and they are not listed in order of death. Since two sons of James Tarlton Carson moved to Lone Star, SC, both marrying into the Mack family, it is reasonable that earlier Carsons, perhaps Robert, may also have moved to that area. There will be a 2nd Patrick Carson Family reunion in March 2007. Details to come later, If interested. We had 3 of James Carson's children's line represented at the 1st one. I have the ship's name, sailing date and place, arrival date and place if you need it. Have not been! able to find where in Ireland Patrick came from but feel pretty certain that it was Northern Ireland. Have you been able to find out?

My gx3 grandfather was the Samuel Fluke who is listed in the Griffith's valuations for the Derryhoosh townland in County Monaghan. There were a number of Flukes who lived in the area in the period 1820-1890 but I have not found any further trace since then (possibly because I've only recently been researching this side of my family). I have no trace of an Elizabeth Fluke around the 1890s/1900s. Were you able to trace the Flukes in your tree to those of Derryhoosh?

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/DYC.2ACE/1337.2.1.1 Message Board Post: Not to worry, Fran. I've been there many times myself. You can still order the birth cert from the GRO even thorugh the date is earlier. And hopefully Adair was born after civil registration started in 1864 so you can find his birth record more easily. Once you find the family information in the Indexes and census you can contact the local church wherever Patrick and the family members were born for copies of the baptismal records. The churches won't do genealogical research for you. There are just too many requests now to respond to them. However, you can send a request in writing with a donation for each baptismal record since you'll have the approximate dates of the baptisms and they can find them more easily in the registers. For Patrick, his baptismal record should also include his ordination information. The churches kept very good records about the clergy with their baptismal records. His ordination, even date of death should be noted there. In all probability he was trained at Maynooth Seminary in County Kildare. The Russell Library there has information on the students. There was a book written in 1995 for the 200th anniversary of the college about the college and priests who studied there by Rev. P. Corish. Staff at the college, now the National University of Ireland at Maynooth, are very helpful. Following is the link to the website. I recommend contacting them after you've gotten the birth info and info from the church. Staff is very helpful and courteous: http://www.nuim.ie/ Regards. EilĂs O'Hara
