Un fortunately records for that time are very scarce and we have at least 6 families of cuddy's having babies in the early 1800's in this townland of Gorey and names are repeated in each generation in each generation. I live only a few miles from Donaghmore. I suspect if there is a total lack of corroborating evidence of the relationship to George McCombs, we will have to take the Grandson's oral history word for it. He should have known who his grandparents were. Although, Abraham Lincoln addressed this issue by saying he didn't know who his grandparents were, and was only concerned who their grandson would turn out to be. This seems like a good perspective to adhere to. But, I am a stickler for details, too, and won't rest until I can find some proofs. Good hunting! THE CLAN! AYE! Author: JAHayman Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.britisles.ireland.ulster/2939/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I'm looking for any information on my father's parents. They were Frederick Samuel (Sam) Marshall (about 1870-1919) and Margaret Cavan (about 1875-1925). Those dates are not at all accurate! My father was Patrick James Marshall born either 1911 or 1913, depending on whether we believe him or the official record. Frederick worked downtown as a buyer for a department store. They were living on Florenceville off the Ormeau Rd, at the time of my father's birth. Can someone confirm the existance of these people? 1. [IRL-ULSTER] McNeny (McNaney - McNarey - ???)
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: mysteriousways Surnames: McNeny - Jonah - Kephart Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.britisles.ireland.ulster/2938/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Hello everyone! I'm looking for information about Raymond Philip McNeny. He was born in New York in 1896. His social security app states he was born in New York, as were his parents. I can't find anything about them. I've found some information that links the 'Neny name to counties in Ulster as well as County Monaghan. Is it possible his parents weren't born in New York? At that time, would there have been a reason for immigrants to state New York, if they were born outside the country? Was that even possible? It's just a guess. Yes, I'm getting desperate! Anyway Raymond moved to Texas and married Stella Jonah and they had my grandmother Lillie (Kephart). If any of this looks familiar, let me know. Thanks and good luck to everyone in their search! Oh, and Happy St. Patrick's Day! Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
