The email address does not appear to be working. I am researching my family tree, (my grandmothers maiden name was Couser) and noticed your site had several referances to Cousers. I believe the William Couser you refer to is my gx2 grandfather, and all the land surrounding "Killynure House", was owned by Cousers in a map I have dated 1869. I also notice the School you refer to is on the opposite side of the Armgh - Monaghan Rd. I have a few others bits of information. I notice you have referance to a will dispute, I will read later, but do you know how it turned out? Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. James Smyth (b. abt. 1885) married Sarah Mildred McCoy (1885) in Belfast in 1916. They had seven children: James, Edward, Robert, Victor, Eleanor, Margaret and William. James (1885) had at least three siblings: George, the eldest, born about 1873, Richard and William, and possibly a sister called Elizabeth. The boys and their father, William Smyth, were horse dealers and involved in harness racing. The family may have originated from farm lands in the Ballynure (Ballymur?) or Glengormley/Bellview, Carnmoney or Doagh areas. A church was built on their land when they sold it. Later they lived at 39 Beresford Street Belfast. But no details are listed for this street on the 1901/1911 census returns. I'm trying to confirm James's birth date and his mother's name. Any information about this family would be much appreciated. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I am descended from Frederick Highsaw b. about 1750. His last name has been recored as Hisaw and Hysaw as well. My feeling is that he or his imediate ancestors were possibly Ulster Scots but I have been unable to prove or disprove this theory. The earliest official document in the U.S. is a 1773 document from Virginia where he sold hemp. In about 1780 he migrated to Burke county North Carolina where he died about 1820. Any assistance to find out where this family was prior to the American Colonys is greatly appreciated. Robert Negelein Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I have posted a message on this message board about a DNA project that I am undertaking with several other Warks from around the country and we have had great success in matching 25 markers, which means there is a 90% chance that we share a common ancestor wihtin the last 5 generations. We are actively soliciting other Wark family members to participate because eventually by doing so we might develop the possible links between all of us. Most all our ancestors came from the Ballyshannon area of County Donegal, Ireland. The test is done through FamilyTreeDNA, the leader in this field, working with the Arizona University and the individual working our name's group is Leah Wark. And best of all - the test is easy to complete with a couple swabs, the University maintains the secrecy of the DNA and the fee is very cheap. ! I urge all of you to contact her at leahw@familytreedna.com. And if you have verifiable Wark ancestors still living in the old country try to get their participation bevcause it might help all of us jump back across the big pond. Hello Folks, I am new to the list. I am researching Michael Gallen. Lewis Laird moved to America 1826. He came with his family including his son-in-law, Michael Gallen. I found a Lewis Laird in the Tithe Applottments in the townland of Cardreen. I found a Michael Gallen listed in the townland of "Laught". My question is, "Can anyone help me determine if these Lairds and Gallens in the Tithe Applottments be the same as those who traveled to America in 1826?" I have other questions regarding the Gallen family, but I'll only ask this one for now. Thank you for any help or advice. Kevin
