    1. [IRL-ULSTER] scottish records
    2. Donna Mendes
    3. Hi, I'm new to this, and wondering if anyone can make any suggestions. My ancestor, John CRAIG, was a Scottish farmer in County Donegal (probably near Raphoe) circa 1775. The only other thing I know for sure about him is that he sent his son to Trinity College in 1795. Realizing it might be a lost cause, I'm nevertheless trying to find out more about him. I've done a little reading and know that there were several waves of immigrants to Ulster province from (southwest?) Scotland between about 1604 and 1715. One of the many things I don't know yet is if there are any surviving records of these immigrants in Scotland. I have a friend who is going to Edinburgh next week, and has offered to do lookups, but I have no idea of what to ask for. Can anyone help, please? Thanks in advance for any ideas. 1. [IRL-ULSTER] Request Info on Monaghan Asylum
    2. Keith & Edna Rippin
    3. Just a few questions which I could do with some answers to: Does anyone out there know if Monaghan Asylum still exists & if they would still have employee records? Or could they be lodged elsewhere e.g. Monaghan Museum? Would Monaghan Ancestral Research have any records of the asylum? Does anyone know if the Clogher Historical Society has any information on Monaghan Asylum. My grandparents John Thomas COOKE & Mary Ann WRIGHT got married at Monaghan on 29 March 1894 and both were living and working at the Monaghan Asylum at that time. I could do with finding any information on them from the asylum that could give me a clue as to where they came from! N.B. I know where they were at the time of the 1911 census but the appropriate page is missing on the filmed records and I have no idea where they were residing at the time of the 1901 census so if there are asylum records these would be manner from heaven!! TIA Edna Rippin

    1. [IRL-ULSTER] Jamesons/Fergusons
    2. I am new to the list and researching 'my' Fergusons, who are descendants from a John Henry Ferguson, who ended up in Ulster, Ireland in the late 1600's or so. (see a shot in the dark, I know, but...oh well?) Also, check out this site: www.ancientfaces.com It's a site that stores photos, family stories, recipes, and you can also add the URL to your own web site. It also has a 'military' photo side. Uploading photos is easy (and free!) and I have already received a number of emails from people viewing, the photos that I have posted. I have several of my Ferguson line on there, just searching for more! Pam Marks San Jose, CA researching: Ferguson, Jameson, Collins, Irwin, Keen
