How are you Bob? Newburgh has changed a lot since you grew up here. I'm in the Town of Newburgh near the intersection of routes 84 and 87(Thruway). Used to live in the city many years ago, and New Windsor. I've been trying to find out about our family history for future generations. I'm the only one that has "gotten into it" and I'd like to resolve the unanswered questions. Unfortunately, records have been destroyed or simply missing so it makes it very difficult. Anyhow, the Hudson River is still beautiful ( I'm presuming you're not in Newburgh anymore) . I go to ARMY football in the fall at West Point, and the area is growing in population. Thanks for the e-mail. Jim Williamson
Hey James, I was born at St Luke's Hospital in Newburgh in 1934 and lived in Nwbgh until 1949. Remnants of my family lived there until 1993. Can't help you much re: Drogheda (although I've been through there on the train) or any Williamson's there, either. My Antrim connection is from Archibald Wiseman, born 1812-13 in Ballywatermoy Townland, near Cullybackey. He came to Newburgh in 1835 or 6 to be with his brother James, and both are 'buried' in Old Town Cemetery at South and Grand in a plainly marked family plot. Please contact me directly at [email protected] at your convenience. [email protected] wrote: I'm looking for the birthplace of Roger Williamson, born about 1796 probably in Ulster. Surnames: MALCOLMSON MALCOMSON GEARY ARMSTRONG WATSON Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/DYC.2ACE/658 Message Board Post: George Crawford Malcolmson married Annie Morrison Watson in 1897 in Johnstone, Renfrew, Scotland. On the Marriage Certificate George’s parents are given as John Crawford Malcolmson (Army Pensioner deceased) and Sarah Malcolmson (m.s. Malcolmson). It is suspected that and Sarah and George came from Ireland. Sarah’s parents were recorded on the death certificate as John Malcolmson and Mary Geary. Sarah died in Glasgow in 1899 after she had remarried to an Archibald Armstrong. I have a copy of a Marriage Certificate of a Sarah Malcolmson who married an Archibald Armstrong in 1877 in County Antrim in Belfast. Her father is recorded as Francis Malcolmson which is different from the Given Name recorded on her death certificate by her son. To add further confusion the 1901 Census entry states that the Place Of Birth of George Malcolmson is England who would have been born about 1870, An extensive search of the 1881 UK Census has been done and cannot find a suitable a entry for George (presumably because he was in Ireland with his mother as she had re-married by then). George tended to miss out the 2nd L in his surname. If anyone can help me track down George’s birth or knows anything of him or his ancestors please contact me. I wish I could be of some help, unfortunately I can only trace my James Carson back to birth place of Ireland. I do not know where he or his wife Mary Orr were born. I know they immigrated to Canada in the 1850's. That's about it. So Sorry. Maybe we will cross paths again. Happy Hunting. Mica

Hi everyone I find it interesting reading your queries, so I thought I would send in my query. My Grandfather James Patrick McDonnell was born in Ireland. We were told that he was born in Moy, Co Tyrone around 1892. His father ROBERT MCDONNELL came to England(Liverpool/Bootle) with his children, his wife having died in childbirth or soon after giving birth to James Patrick. James Patrick's birth was never registered, so no birth certificate and no Mother's name. James Patrick was around 6 years old when he was brought to England. This seems to be a problem that we have tried to solve for many years. It would be wonderful if someone had any information for us, or if anyone lives in that area & could help. Thanks Colin James McDonnell

William John Scotts father was also William John Scott (b. appx. 1857-1877, No IRE), who was married to Margaret Jane Crowe, and I believe was also married to Elizabeth McVea. Both William's moved to Ontario (Toronto area I believe) and William John 1897 eventually moved to Sarnia. Mrs. Mary McClure appears on the 1900 Perry County census as born in Ohio in 1833. Residing with her is her granddaughter Marietta Ohio Berry/Barry. Marietta was the daughter of Newton and Minerva (nee McClure) Barry/Berry and was born in Ste. Genevieve County, Missouri 30 March 1886. The family is not on the 1880 census and family lore states they were from Kaskaskia, Ill, then Ohio and Virginia prior to this. I have searched the St. Mary & Brown cemetery and Cedar Fork Cemeteries in Perry County looking for any McClures. Mrs. Mary McClure does not appear on the 1910 census for Perry County thus I assume she died between 1900-1910. I cannot locate a McClure cemetery or plot. Can anyone help with this? Also, the 1900 census stated Mrs. McClure had 4 living children. I can only identify Minerva. Is anyone working the McClures of this group? thanks dia! na I will reciprocate info.!
