Great idea! Here are mine: Great grandfather Hugh FANNING emigrated from Coldfields, Tipperary in 1847; married Catherine FOGARTY (also from Tipperary); settled and died in Jeffersonville, IN. Great great grandfather Nicholas FORD emigrated from Kings County (Offaly) in a “cattle boat” according to family lore, around 1844; married Bridget Hensbury; settled and died in Pittsfield, MA. Blessings and gratitude to them (what courage!!) and to you, Chris, for this fantastic list. Seeing the Father's Day wishes, made me think it would be nice to remember the father, grandfather, great-grandfather or GGgrandfather who left Ireland. Maybe his name and something you know about him. Happy Father's Day!
