    3. Good Morning from cold, but sunny, Australia. Could someone please explain to me the entry for Denis Hogan "for an injury - Parish of Corbally". Does this mean Denis Hogan suffered an injury, or does it mean he caused an injury to someone else? I am trying to find out why my Denis Hogan ancestor was sent to Australia as a convict on the "Parmelia", arriving here in very early 1834. I presume his trial was in the latter half of 1833. I have no knowledge of the names of his parents, or where in Tipperary he lived, nor do I know why he was sent here, apart from "being in the wrong place at the wrong time". Any help would be greatly appreciated. Surely I am not the only one looking for Denis. 3. Liz, These men were asking for work orders on road etc. and a few seem to have been asking for recompense for a loss they suffered. If is not really stated clearly. A Burning. An injury. My take is that these are all people wanting payment for something.
