    3. Hi Jeff, I believe our lines may tie in. I have a stash of old family documents found in an attic of my 2nd cousin with information that I have been chasing around the past year attempting to verify. Patrick O'Meara and Catherine (Kitty) Gleeson had William, John, 2 daughters whose names weren't mentioned, then Mary Ann and John Michael. Kitty's sister Bridget Gleeson was my gggrandmother, or as near as I can ascertain from Gleeson family that I have connected with still living in Limerick. This Gleeson family was originally from Tipperary as well, centering around Nenagh. Patrick was in the British military and landed in Ottowa with quite a bit of family in the vicinity. In Limerick, the Gleeson girls had a business of sewing "Limerick Lace" and making habits for nuns. The girls remained lifelong friends with many of the nuns of the Convent of Mercy in Limerick. Many of the Convent were recruited from the Nenagh area into the Limerick chapter, then dispersed in the middle to late 1880's to the US, first in Alabama via New Orleans. I believe that one of the O'Mara girls was in this order in Alabama. Patrick O'Meara had brothers named Denis, John and William; and sisters Bridget and Mary. Bridget married Michael Murphy, and became butchers in Limerick, descendants of this line are still around as well. Patrick's parents were William O'Mara and Katie Ryan. Other strongly associated surnames are Cleary, Howard, Quigley and McCormack. The information from the family chart was posted kindly to the Co Tip Rootsweb Mailing List and can be found in the March Archives for 2005. I have acquired a bit more information since that time. Thanks, Jean
