Edward QUINN m. Margaret MORONY(?) 1847 in Cloughjordan, TIPP. Sailed to Australia on Lady Peel arriving Melbourne/Port Philip in 1848. Children: John 1848 (died 1855), Margaret b 1849, married Peter Bolton in Brisbane 1871, Denis, b.1851, John Joseph, b 1853, married Catherine Higgins in New York, about 1871. On the same ship were Michael QUINN, bride Mary CLEARY, and son Denis age 2. They seem to have stayed in the Melbourne area. Catherine DONOHUE (?) married James HIGGINS in Troy NY, child, Catherine HIGGINS, b. 1854 in Troy NY, m. John Quinn b. about 1871. Children: John Joseph b.1872 m. Eleanor Josephine Walsh about 1899, Edward b. 1876, Mary Margaret b. , 1883, Martin b. 1884, Catherine Loretto b. 1887 became a nun, Caroline b. 1889 m. .Charles Thomas , Elizabeth b. 1892 m Roger Tracy, Joseph, b. 1897 m. Alice?. Patrick WALSH b. Ireland m. Mary Jones (maybe): Children: Sarah/Sally m. William Blizer who was in the motion picture business, Elizabeth m. Harry Knaggs; Katie, m. Will Helroyd: Maggie who was a dressmaker for President Wilson's bride (maybe) m. Charles Hamil ; Mary (Mamie) m. Jack Boland; Eleanor Josephine (Nellie/Ellen) m. John Joseph Quinn about 1899. The Quinns in Australia apparently lived and bought land around Melbourne until 1870 when Edward, Margaret, Denis and daughter Margaret moved to Brisbane. Why then? How did they travel?
