Hi Robyn, I have a little mystery about 1680 on the Quillinan's. Denis Cullenane of "Cos" [pronounced and now spelled Cush] Co. Limerick was said to be shepherd to Mr. Charles Benet. Two problems with that: First I doubt he was really a shepherd and maybe more likely a priest on the run, and second, talking to the people at Cush, Benet didn't have any lands at Cush or anywhere near there that anyone has ever heard about. That doesn't mean Benet didn't and it could be there just isn't a memory, but most of the lands at Cush were common land. So that is the mystery and why I asked about the Limerick set. Anything you can share about where the Bennett's might have been in Limerick in earlier times might help. Hello again, Thank you for replying Janet, I will have a look at my records & see if I can see the name you have mentioned. Otherwise I will see what the Bennett family historian can tell me, apparently he is very enthusiastic about his research, he is in the British navy. I will be in touch soon.
