Hi I'm looking for help re Andrew Caswell wife Margaret Carroll children Elizabeth, Ann, Samuel and John lived for a time Newport Tipperary migrated to Tasmania, Australia 1854
Hello Fay24: I'm afraid I can't help much with your Andrew CASWELL, but I am interested in that surname. My g.g.grandmother was a Mary Ann CASWELL (b. c 1804). My McCutchins lived approximately within the triangle bounded by Nenagh, Ballina, and Newport. In fact their church records more or less begin with the Newport area. Mary Ann married Robert F. McCutchin 20 Nov 1827. It seems likely that the CASWELLs and McCUTCHINs lived near one another. Although I have seen the name "Andrew CASWELL" in some records, I have never seen anything which connects Andrew and Mary Ann. Since both families appear to have been small in numbers, it seems logical that there might be a connection. Do you have anything that could fill in a blank? As I said in my posting a couple of days ago, I'm desperate enough to be open to conjecture and speculation. Thanks in advance for anything you can offer.
