    1. ROLL CALL: NORTON, HARE
    2. Ron Norton
    3. Looking for descendants or anyone with knowledge of Thomas NORTON and/or Bridget HARE from County Tipperary, probably around the Thurles area. Thomas NORTON and Bridget HARE were parents of John NORTON, born 'around' Thurles about 1820. John NORTON was convicted of vagrancy at Clonmel Assizes in March 1837 and sentenced to seven years transportation to New South Wales. On his arrival at Sydney Cove, aboard the convict ship 'Calcutta 2' in August 1837 he gave County Tipperary as his native place and listed Thomas NORTON and Bridget HARE as his parents. John is listed in the Irish Transportation Records as both John NORTON and John NOCTON. The records are identical. He also appeared originally in Clonmel Assizes as John NAUGHTON.
