    3. continued... DERRYNEFLYN, a denomination of the parish of Graystown, barony of Slieveardagh, 2 miles north-northwest of Killenaule, co. Tipperary, Munster. DEVIL'S BIT MOUNTAINS, a range of heights partly in co. Tipperary, Munster, and partly on the boundary between that county and King's co., Leinster. They rise a little west of the small town of Templemore, and extend in a north-north easterly direction. Their extreme altitude is 2,084 feet. They have their revolting name from a semicircular looking gap on the sky-line of nearly the loftiest part of their ridge. DOGSTOWN, a parish on the west border of the barony of Middlethird, 2½ miles south -southwest of Cashel, co. Tipperary, Munster. Area, 406 acres. Pop., in 1831, 94; in 1841 69. Houses 9. The land is good tillage-ground. —This parish is a rectory, and part of the benefice of KNOCKGRAFFON in the dio. of Cashel. Tithe composition, £27 13s. 10 1/4d. The Roman Catholic chapel has an attendance of between 700 and 800; and, in the Roman Catholic parochial arrangement, is united to the chapel of Knockgraffon. In 1834, the inhabitants were all Roman Catholics; and there was no school. DOLLA, a parish on the southern border of the barony of Upper Ormond, 5 miles west-north-west of Borris-o-leagh, co. Tipperary, Munster. Length southward, 7 miles; breadth, 2; area, 7,354 acres, 32 perches. Pop., in 1831, 1,041; in 1841, 1,529. Houses 233. the surface is drained north-westward by the head-streams of the Nenagh river. A height in the south has an altitude of 1,312 feet above sea-level; and one in the centre has an altitude of 1,543. The chief residence is Trevorstown, the seat of Thomas GOING, Esq.; and another noticeable seat is Happy-Grove.—This parish is wholly appropriated to the see of Killaloe, as the Bishop's mensal; and contains neither church, chapel, nor school.
