I have found that when you get only the logos instead of the login page, you can still get to the login by going directly to http://www.irishnewspaperarchives.com/browse.aspx I have gotten in every time that I have tried over the last 3 days using that address. The site itself still doesn't work very consistently though. The images sometimes take for ever to enlarge. -----Original Message----- From: Darlene Scott [mailto:darll@gmtel.net] Sent: Sunday, February 12, 2006 9:46 AM To: IRL-TIPPERARY-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Irish newspapers on line Been trying ever since it was mentioned and still - only the logos. I was doing very well today on this site but it has started asking me for my username and password and then doing nothing when I entered them. Any suggestions from anyone in the know? Will be a fantastic resource when up and running. I've gotten into it with no trouble. But I'm wondering what's the most efficient way to view the images of the papers. Even using a search term or name, you may get scores of results. The viewer only lets you see a small section of the news page, and so you have to pore over it, almost "manually" to look for your search term result. Am I doing something wrong? Is there a less time consuming way of viewing the pages? Agnes, when you get to the page you want to search, hit Ctrl F, and a search box should open. Put in the name that you are searching, and it will highlight any place on that page where that name appears! That only works, however, on the individual pages. As far as the overall search, that's just a difficult decision on what to search. Try it several ways, see if the same pages keep reappearing. That worked for me.
