I presume in those days people didn't move around too much. < Marion, I think that Moankeenane townland, in Glenkeen civil parish, might be your nearest reference. It is located about 7 miles WSW of Templemore town. I cannot find a Gannavane (or even substituting,"r"s for "n"s, etc.) anywhere near any of the Tipp. Kilcommons. One Kilcommon is about 15 miles WSW of Templemore, in Templebeg civil parish and another is in Aglishcloghane civil parish, more than 20 miles NW of Templemore. The other Kilcommon townlands, along with Ardfinnan, are in S. Tipperary and well-away from Templemore. It appears that Moankeenane is in Borrisoleigh RC parish (Diocese of Cashel and Emly, which I understand is a problem). The web page for this parish, with contact information, is at: > http://www.catholicireland.net/parishes/parishdetails.php?ID=831 < The second listing in the parish, for Aleigh, is shown as Ileigh on the maps..... and it's certainly not in Co. Armagh, as shown <gr>. .............................................................................. ... Pete Schermerhorn, in the glorious Berkshire hills of western Massachusetts
