Does this mean that they will search all the records for this person or do you have to specify some details other than the name? Is it possible to request the search online? Gill

    3. Hi, In my case I have specified the parish, which of course you may not know. I have given a rough idea of the date as well. On their website it says that the search will generate 'the baptismal or marriage record of a named ancestor' so I don't know if you have to state the place or not, but they are very quick to respond to e-mails so I'm sure if you ask they will tell you. I think it's a useful way to get a small information without paying for the primary search- if for some reason your ancestors aren't where you expect them to be then you will only have wasted E18 for a negative search. I haven't had my results yet, but since I comissioned the research I have had reason to believe that it will be a negative result (ie not Catholic) so I am very glad I comissioned a single record search rather than a primary search!
