They could conceivably come up with an index right now, as each county Heritage Centre had the census information indexed and put on computer a number of years ago to make their searching easier and quicker. For some reason, though, that kind of cooperation doesn't seem to exist in this world, so I won't be holding my breath. As well, in my experience, "available from Dec. 2006" is also probably a lofty statement, again because of the government involvement. We could probably have the whole of Tipperary indexed and transcribed by that time and up on the web! Now, if they hired a genealogy company, such as Eneclann (not a tout, I just happen to know them!), then it might fly, but leaving it up to the government to do the work, don't be holding your breath.
