Hi Liz, The Hogans in question lived in Palmyra NY next door to Matt Ryan and his wife Catherine White. Darby was born in about 1861 in Tipperary I believe, no positive proof of birthplace. He is married to a woman named Mary. I am not directly related to the Hogans as far as I know at this point, but the Ryan family. Matt Ryan is buried next to Darby Hogan in Darby's family plot, and a Bridget Hogan married Andrew Ryan who was either a cousin or brother of Matt. Not having much luck with the Ryans at present, so I've moved on to relatives and neighbors. I'm wondering if the Mary Ryan searching for her brother Michael was Darby's wife Mary. Hello Ellen, Thank you for your very prompt reply. I know nothing of my Denis Hogan b. ca 1811 "Tipperary", apart from the ship's indent when he came here in 1834 as a convict. Once Denis is here, I can track him through his convict life, marriage, children and his death. However, on no document does he give the names of his parents or from where in Tipperary he came!...........so, I sort of clutch at straws and hope that one day someone, somewhere in the world will look for a Denis Hogan who fits my 2x gt. grandfather.
