On the subject of Kennedy ancestors: About a year ago we "discovered" Kennedy to be the name of our great grandfather JOHN REYNOLDS' cousins. The lot of them were born in Ireland according to both Federal and New York state censuses. All settled in GREEN ISLAND, NY and area, with some in/around Brooklyn. I have copies of marriage and baptism records from parish registers in the Ballinasloe, Loughrea, and Clonfert areas of County Galway for the REYNOLDS', but have yet to track down an origin for the Kennedys. (Thus, subscriptions to surrounding counties lists.) KENNEDYs arrived about 1850ish , and my great grandfather arrived 29 March 1882 with wife JANE ANDERSON and sons, WILLIAM, 6, JOHN JOSEPH, 4, and PATRICK, 1. Have yet to find a husband's name for MARY KENNEDY, mother of: BRIDGET KENNEDY GLYN(variations) JENNINGS, JOHN KENNEDY, CATHERINE KENNEDY (who may have been deaf), THOMAS KENNEDY, ANN (possibly Hanora) KENNEDY. (Correct birth order unknown) Just a hunch that mother, MARY KENNEDY must have been the sister of SIMON REYNOLDS (who also settled in Green Island, NY), MARGARET REYNOLDS,married name unknown, who lived in England, MICHAEL REYNOLDS who stayed in Ireland and died possibly around the 1860s, and MARTIN REYNOLDS, believed to be my great great grandfather. Kind regards, Sheila
