    1. Re: [IRL-TIP] Knockaboulagh?
    2. Pat mentions: === I am currently transcribing some tithe apploments and found two pages labeled 'Knockaboulagh Commons', in the middle of the tithes for the Upperchurch Civil Parish. === Pat, I wonder if this might be a commonly-used abbreviation at the time, for an even longer townland name - Knockcurraghbola Commons ?? I don't know if this was a common practice at the time, but it would seem to be a good idea (assuming everyone in that area knew the abbreviation [gr]). It's located about it in the middle of the parish, a couple of miles or so WSW of Upperchurch village (I know you have the map). It might be worth thinking about.......especially if you don't find any (or many) of the longer-named version in the records. I don't have any coherent comments on the Temple........ placename yet. I'll let you know, if I get any ideas. Pete .................................................... Pete Schermerhorn, in the glorious Berkshire hills of western Massachusetts </HTML>
