My Tipperary connection is in the vicinity of the townlands of Drombane and Moyaliffe. My g.grandparents were Jeremiah ("Darby") Hayes, born 19 March 1833 ,....... son of John Hayes (of Drombane) and Catherine McCarthy (of Moyaliffe). And Winnifred Fogarty, born 13 December 1829, ........daughter of Jeremiah Fogarty (of Drombane) and Bridget Kennedy (of Drombane). My g.g.grandfather, John Hayes and his brother Thomas Hayes operated a "corn and tuck mill" on the local stream near the present day creamery at Drombane, which was located not far from the ruined remains of Drombane castle. The family were known as "Hayes of the mill". Members of all these families are buried in the adjacent Kilvalure church graveyard adjacent to Drombane and in the Upperchurch graveyard. Many of these ancestors emigrated to Australia in the period 1845-1860. Any information on these families would be appreciated. Darryl Scarff Australia
