Ellen QUINLISK, b. Co. Tipperary 18 Aug 1835, was the daughter of Pat QUINLISK, b. 1786 and ? She emigrated on the New Hampshire which departed Liverpool and arrived in NY on 9 Jul 1851 as a servant, age 16. A male relative, 18-year-old Michael QUINLISK (mispelled QUINLAK on ship's record) (son of John QUINLISK and Margaret RYAN, also of Co. Tipperary), was also on that ship and both Ellen and Michael settled and married in Lebanon, Warren Co., Ohio. Ellen QUINLISK married Thomas HARMON of Co. Kilkenny in Ohio and Michael QUINLISK married Anne FOGARTY in Ohio. Other Co. Tipperary families that settled in Ohio were the MULLANPHY/MELAMPY and BISHOP families, and they appear in family reunion photos together; the original relationships (pre-immigration) are not clear.
