Mary asks about: === Foilinefingoe - in Upper Turraheen, Clogher Civil Parish? My Ryans lived there. === Mary, Adding to Jerry's information on Bahagha and Glengar, I believe that Foilinefingoe is the area in the NW part of Turraheen Upper townland which is shown on Discovery map 66 as Falleennafinoga. Based on information in Tom Burnell's (a Tipp author - from Holy Cross) fine book, "The Anglicized words of Irish Placenames", this placename would seem to mean "little cliff of the scald crow". I don't know about crows in that area, but the topography shows very steep gradients in this part of Turraheen Upper, so I woudn't be surprised to find several "little cliffs" there.
