    3. Cathy Just checked on the www.rootsireland.ie in North and South Tipperary and nothing showed up. Rootsireland does not have all the parish records from the Diocese of Cashel and Emly so it's possible the records you are looking for are in one of the excluded parishes. The National Library holds microfilms but not knowing the correct parish it would be almost an impossible search If you really want to find them the only way would be to commission research from the www.tfhr.ie - I'm not sure what their charges are at present. 1. [IRL-TIP] KENNELLY/KENNEALLY
    2. Shirlee Cantwell
    3. Hi Listers, I am researching Bridget KENNELLY/KENNEALLY who supposedly immigrated to Australia in the late 1840's. Bridget married a Patrick KINNA, either in Sydney or South Australia but their eldest son Austin KINNA was said to have been born in Adelaide in 1851. No documentation has ever been found of the marriage or Austin KINNA's birth. Bridget was said to have come from Cashel area and well educated as the family had money and was educated at the same place at the Priests. Bridget was a great reader and would sit up till daylight reading. She in the Hospital for the Insane, Kew, in Victoria, aged 84 years, of Senile Decay. Bridget was my great great grandmother. 3. Listers, I've copied and pasted some information and sent it off-List to Mike. I didn't know if copying and pasting was ok to do on the List. I found a death listing for Timothy at FamilySearch.org. It might be him. The time-frame is close. I also sent Mike the website for NYC death record applications. Hopefully he'll have good luck in his search, and let us know if this turns out to be his Timothy. 2. If he was catholic I would look first in calvary cemetery in woodside, queens new york. It is a huge old place where most roman catholics were buried Just google calvary cemetery queens new york and find the address and phone number of the office of the cemetery. Call them and ask about your relatives. They are pretty helpful. You may need a date of death. There are ways to search the new york city municipal archives for death certificates as long as you have any approximate date. You may have to send a letter but start with a phone call to calvary. -----Original message----- From: Patrick Pollard <pjpoll@charter.net> To: "irl-tipperary@rootsweb.com" <irl-tipperary@rootsweb.com> Cc: "<irl-tipperary@rootsweb.com>" <irl-tipperary@rootsweb.com> Sent: Mon, Jun 4, 2012 22:11:04 EDT Subject: Re: [IRL-TIP] Tim Morrissey, Place of Death/Burial You could try searching the Brooklyn newspapers for that time period. You can order the cert from www.groireland.ie by downloading a form and posting it - it takes about 6 weeks I think. Ask for a photocopy of the entry as it costs less and gives the same information. When did the family emigrate? On the civil registration index there are births showing for Larkin children registered in Thurles district between 1880 and 1888 but there is no way of knowing if these are the children of Michael and Mary Jane without getting the certs. In this time frame you need Church Records. I don't see Eliza in the RootsIreland index which covers some locations in Tipperary. That may leave you with the Tipperary Family History Research centre. There records cover the Diocese of Cashel and Emly which covers a large area of Tipperary. http://www.tfhr.org/ The last I looked they are not cheap but are about the only game in town if you have this Diocese. I hope they can help you with this family. 3. I agree with Laurie. 3. Cathy, A little bit of digging on www.rootsireland.ie shows that the father of the Michael Larkin who married Jane Kennedy in Thurles in 1879 was called Jeremiah Larkin.I was unable to locate any children on this site.RegardsGerry(on a miserable, wet, windy and boring Sunday in Ireland :-) > From: annclare@gofree.indigo.ie > To: cathy_carley@yahoo.com.au; irl-tipperary@rootsweb.com > Date: Sun, 3 Jun 2012 10:45:19 +0100 > Subject: Re: [IRL-TIP] michael joseph larkin > > Cathy > Alternatively you could search www.rootsireland.ie - a pay site and I just > did a quick search and did not seem find any children but this is not > conclusive. > Regards > Clare > hi:) > looking for info, please of a MICHAEL JOSEPH LARKIN born circa 1860 > tipperary married Mary Jane Kennedy in 1880 Thurles Tipperary, and who his > parents were if possible > and if possibly they had children in tipperary...before moving to Australia > Thanks > Regards > Cathy:)

Is there any place, Dear Friends, I may look which would possibly chronicle his passing and the place of his internment? Or would it, in all likelihood, have been quietly in a potter's field unnoticed by anyone but family? For several generations, despite hundreds of descendants, no one apparently spoke, or left a written record, of his final resting place. Thanks much. Mike Morrissey in Fargo ND

    3. Cathy Have you got the marriage cert? - This will show fathers names of both bride and groom and their residence at time of marriage-if not this seems to be the correct reference Marriage Michael J Larkin Jan- Mar 1879 Thurles Registration District Vol 3 page 612 with a match for Jane M Kennedy. Alternatively you could search www.rootsireland.ie - a pay site and I just did a quick search and did not seem find any children but this is not conclusive.
