    3. Hi I have just started looking for this family and so far my information has taken me to this place below. I am looking for John KENNEDY who was born abt 1839 at The Lodge - Merton Hall - Tipperary - Ireland. I am told his father was the Gatekeeper here. I am also told that this place is no longer standing. Does anyone know of this Merton Hall if so can someone pin point it on a map for me. Thank you Kind Regards Carole

    3. Tom, I don't know whats in the book, but as far as I know its mostly about the Palatine families who settled there. I did look up something for someone in the Library in Thurles a couple years ago and as far as I remember it was mostly about the Palatines. 3. Hello Mary Could you tell me if that book is generally about the area and its history or is specific about the families who settled there? I am starting to think that I will never find any references to the Bowles who settled in Kilcooley (Bawnlea and the Commons) in the late 1700's to early 1800's but it doesn't seem like any records from that area have survived. If there are Bowles references in that book I would certainly be interested. 3. Hi John and Gail, I am only just starting to try and find my ggg grandmother Bridget Kennedy so I have no other info otherthan what i stated in previous mail so i feel i may not find them unless someone can steer me in the right direction as i dont have Bridget and Mary's mother maiden name i suspect it is going to be really hard to locate them. My Bolger family came from County Carlow and i have been very lucky in finding them as the County Carlow list has been very helpful and the County Carlow website an extra source for researchers I have also transcribed records for the County carlow site as the list owner gets info and then gets you to transcribe them and then he puts them up on his site. so i was hoping if i joined the Tipperary List it may well have some handy sites to look up etc like the Carlow one. I will keep trying to locate my kennedy girls and i will keep a look out for yours too, we may find at a later date we are related. Good luck with your research and have a great chrissy from down under tricia John or Gail Sextontricia > Hi there Tricia: > > Merry Christmas to you too. > > We too, are searching Kennedy's of Tipperary.
