I have seen several emails of the "Where's so and so" type both on this list and others where I am just a member. If someone is not on a list, or is not as active as usual, their privacy should be respected. When an email is sent to the list it is coming across the desk of hundreds of people. I do not think such a public forum as a genealogy list is the way to ask about anyone. Email addresses are pretty readily available by using Google or checking the list archives, so there is no reason to contact people using this list. I have found that lists often become a kind of family, and we do care about each other. Some on this list have even made a point to meet which is wonderful. Let's remember though, that this is not the correct forum for making personal inquiries. So..henceforth queries about anyones "whereabouts" are NOT allowed on this list. Any questions about this email should be addressed privately to me at: chrisnina@gmail.com Christina IRL-Tipperary Listowner > >
Hi, listers, Just wondering if Richard's ears were burning this morning. Christina and I were talking about seeing Richard at the Genealogy Show in London in April and wondering how he's doing. Haven't seen hide nor hair of him since. Our genealogy quests are going ever so slowly at the moment. Can't even ask a question to the list unless someone knows if the "inhabitants" of the old cemetery in Borrisoleigh are yet on any list, and if so, where is that available? I'm always looking for information on my THOMAS KINGSLEY, parish klerk and circa early 1800's. One more thing, when I was looking for information of C of I records, the records for Borrisoleigh were found (some of them, at least) in a safe in the church in Kilfithmone. In Templemore's safe there were some records for baptisms of military families. At least, that's what I found unless my mind has gone altogether! Cheers, Heidi
Hi Anita, many thanks for the offer I am after a needle in a Haystack still trying to find a Daniel Fowler. Robyn at olgeta@bigpond.net.au writes: << I am assuming there is only one C of I church in Templemore, where would the closest church be outside Templemore? >> Robyn, Here are what appear to be the four nearest C of I churches to Templemore. Due N of Templemore, in Ballyhenry townland, Bourney civil parish, about 7 miles is one. To the east of Templemore, about 5 miles, the C of I church is in the village of Templetouhy, townland of Longorchard, civil parish of Templetouhy. Five miles to the south of Templemore, in the village of Dovea, Killahara townland, Loughmoe West civil parish, is another C of I church. The final one is in Kilfithmone townland, same civil parish, less than 5 miles WSW of T'more, along the R 501 regional road. All four of these churches are shown on the current Discovery maps, as well as early 19th century maps. All of them but the church in Dovea village are listed in Mitchell's Guide to Irish Churches and Graveyards. I don't know why that one was omitted from the Mitchell book, as the church is clearly shown on the current map - so it can't be "disused". Perhaps someone else will know the answer, as I don't....... but it wouldn't be the first omission in Mitchell's book. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Pete Schermerhorn, in the glorious Berkshire hills of western Massachusetts
Hi Laraine, I noticed your request for assistance. I have been in touch with you before and I am not sure if I looked up Fowlers or Hassalls for you. One of the people I found was information in Charleville Qld, but I have a feeling you were the Lady that sent me your Fowler in staffordshire tree. Anyway I am happy to look at Ancestry for you if you have not yet got the info you require. Just got a new lead in my Michael and William Fitzgeralds. Found them in the Lickfinn townland and Lickfinn and Crohane parish along with Nolans which was their mothers maiden name. Does anyone have any idea as to the Catholic church they would have attended in the mid 1800s so I can write to the parish priest for baptismal certificates. Thanks. Carol

Yahoo! Music: Check out the gig guide for live music in your area
About Pedigrees: Not sure if the film has only Tipp. pedigrees or also from other places, but there are at least forty names mentioned in the LDS film # 0100128. Of the forty, I don't see (in my scribbled notes) mention of any O'BRIEN. It might be worth a look anyway. The full name on the film is "Pedigrees from GO 1690-1829. Copied from MS 182." I'm also not sure if the film I'm mentioning isn't a copy of the one already mentioned. Good Luck! Heidi
Jennifer, Which O'Brien are you looking for? I have copies of all the O'Brien pedigrees. Remember, this does not mean all the family trees, only those of prominence.
