Hi everyone, I am new here and I know this is a shot in the dark but I am looking for any help on the surname THORNBURGH in Ireland. I recently found that my 3ggrandfather, Charles W. LITTLER married a Hester THORNBURGH in Baltimore, Baltimore County, Maryland on December 17, 1822. I know nothing more of Hester or the Thornburgh family. The following information is from the obituary of Robert M. Littler, son of Charles and Hester: "Col. Littler was born at Winchester, Va. He was of Irish descent, at least on his mother’s side, she having returned to Ireland during or after the war <this would be the American Civil War, 1861-1865> to take charge of an estate which descended to her, and having finally died there." I know that Thornburgh is usually an English surname but does anyone know of any Thornburghs in Ireland or where I could look for more information on them? Thank you in advance for any help on this.
