Hello, I'm new to the list and hoping to find info on my Murtha line. Bartholmeu Murtha (1834- Mar 24, 1902) and his wife Bridget (1833- Dec 2, 1897) sent their daughter Ellen (1865- Oct 1914) to America. The family story is that an older daughter was to go and backed out so Ellen was sent as to not waste the ticket. Ellen ended up in Philadelphia and married Thomas Campbell. This is all I know, anything to get my search on the right track would be appreciated.
