My great grandparents James & Margaret THOMPSON plus baby John 16 months, b. c 1838 emigrated to Australia aboard the "Arkwright" (I have the documents) in 1839 and I am looking for any information, does anyone have them in their tree or any clue at all! What I have so far from the shipping list is : James THOMPSON a native of Co. Derry son of John, farmer and Mary his wife. Brought out by - A.B. Smith Esq. Calling - Farm Labourer Age - 24 years on 13th August 1839 (b.c 1815) Persons certifying Reg. of Bap. - (undecipherable) Character - good - John Boole, William Graham. Rel. Protestant Remarks. Read & Write Margaret THOMPSON A native of Co. Sligo daughter of John FERGUSON a farmer and Margaret his wife. Calling - a dress stay maker. Age - 26 years (b.c 1813) Character - good woman, husband. Rel. Protestant Remarks. Read & Write They settled on the South coast of NSW at Broulee (Ulladulla) and had another son William Henry B. 20 Dec., 1840. If anyone can help I would be most grateful!
