    2. Elayne Lockhart
    3. Hello from Canada, I am seeking the parents and any possible siblings of my g.g. Grandfather, Alexander LOCKHART, born abt. 1788 ((Scot?Ire?). Married 1826, Diocese of Armagh, Ireland, to Marie Richenet from Switzerland (Church of Ireland). Died Belfast, 1848. Had son also Alexander LOCKHART, who co-founded Crawford & Lockhart law firm in Belfast in 1860's (firm still in business), although last family member, Alexander Agnew LOCKHART, died 1925. We have family crest inscribed "John Lockhart of Lee, Esq. Also have some family silver with the Boar's head. I am trying to find out which family members came from Scotland to Ireland, and when? The family law firm has references to wills of Samuel, John and Robert LOCKHART, years from 1765 - 1856 in Carrickfergus and Ballymena, Ireland. I have reviewed the book, Seven Centuries of the Lockharts of Lee by Simon MacDonald Lockhart but cannot find from those particular charts the likely family member who moved to Ireland. Would be grateful of any information or suggestions from members. Thank you. Elayne Lockhart, Toronto, Canada Searching: LOCKHART, AGNEW, RICHENET, ELSWORTHY, MC AULEY, MC MULLEN

    1. [IRL-SURNAMES] EGGERS/CUDMORE EGGERS
    2. Nick Batley
    3. Hello everybody, I am seeking descendants of Paul CUDMORE EGGERS and Jane Margaret HALL of Roscrea, Tipperary. Paul CUDMORE EGGERS was born c1790 in Limerick, and married Jane Margaret HALL c1825-6, and they were supposed to have had 18-20 children, although I only know of about 11 or 12 children. Paul CUDMORE EGGERS was a compositor/printer in Castle St, Roscrea for about 40 or 50 years from the mid-1820's, and both Paul and Jane Margaret are buried in one of the churchyards in Roscrea. The family surname has varied in usage throughout the years between EGGERS and CUDMORE EGGERS. The known children of Paul and Jane Margaret CUDMORE EGGERS are as follows: Horatio Nelson CUDMORE EGGERS b pre-1829 Amelia CUDMORE EGGERS b c1830 (m HARRIS) Eldon CUDMORE EGGERS b c1831 Matilda EGGERS b c1832 (m MILLER) Alfred William Henry EGGERS b c1833 Tellira Charlotte Ann EGGERS (m WATSON) b c1835 Paul CUDMORE EGGERS b c1836 Elizabeth CUDMORE EGGERS b c1837 Lucinda CUDMORE EGGERS (m DENTON) b c1841 or c1848 ? William CUDMORE EGGERS b c1844 (living in Dublin in the 1870's) Mary Jane EGGERS b c1847 Eight of the children (two sons, six daughters) are known to have migrated to Australia in the 1850's and 1860's (one of the daughters is known to have gone on to New Zealand), and another son is thought to have gone to New Zealand and on to unknown destinations (possibly South Pacific). It is also possible that some of the children of Paul and Jane Margaret CUDMORE EGGERS may have gone to the US or Canada. If you are researching this family, I would like to make contact with you. I have the greater portion of this couple and their decendants up to the present time. It is the Irish connection I am mainly interested in. In particular there actual place of living in Galway and their families, before their migration. There is some dispute regarding the spelling. 1. [IRL-SURNAMES] Fadden/McFadden/Gill
    2. Mcfadden, Bill J
    3. My name is Bill McFadden and I live in the United States. My Great Grandfather, John Fadden, was born in Westport, County Mayo in 1846. He emigrated to Pennsylvania sometime around 1870. His Father was Austin Fadden and his Mother was Margaret Gill. Austin and Margaret had at least 3 other children, Ellen, Martin and Bridget (and maybe Michael and Catherine). They lived in a house located at Carraholly, Westport Quay. My family has been in contact with Martin's grandson, Pat Fadian who still lives in Westport. Pat owns a small island called Crevenish just north Westport. The island has an old house on it that at one time was inhabited by Austin and his family. Pat's Father was Patrick (Paddy) who was Martin's son. Martin apparently was the only son to stay in Ireland. The only other information I have about Austin was that he died Sept. 9, 1886. I suspect that his family may come from Achill based on statements from Pat (he said he remembers visiting some McFaddens on Achill Island when he was a kid but doesn't know if they were relatives) but I have no verification or even names to show this. I'm looking to find any information about Austin, Margaret Gill's family or anything related to the Mayo Fadden's/McFadden's. Thanks,

    3. Hello, I'm new to the list and hoping to find info on my Murtha line. Bartholmeu Murtha (1834- Mar 24, 1902) and his wife Bridget (1833- Dec 2, 1897) sent their daughter Ellen (1865- Oct 1914) to America. The family story is that an older daughter was to go and backed out so Ellen was sent as to not waste the ticket. Ellen ended up in Philadelphia and married Thomas Campbell. This is all I know, anything to get my search on the right track would be appreciated.
