--------------- I am trying, without much success, to trace my grandparents & beyond, and would welcome any assistance or info from listers. My father was George,Joseph Corr born 1905 in Keadue, Roscommon. His father was George,Joseph, Earnest who married Teresa Daly on 27th Sept 1897 in Aghamore. My Grandmother Teresa died in 1906, and is buried in Knock cemetry, Co. Roscommon They had 4 children; Teresa, Noel (Nora ?), Jack or John & my father George, Joseph Corr. I have no idea what happened to my Grandfather George, but believe he had a number of siblings; - Phillip, John, Joseph and Nora; I do not know in which order they were born ? Phillip (abt 1866 - 1925) married Teresa Loughna (my grandmother Teresa Daly's Aunt) and lived in Edenpark, Knock. They had a son George Patrick (1895 - 1922) and daughters Kathleen & Teresa. George Patrick (1895 - 1922) married Margaret Bridget Kenny (1895-1925) about 1920 ? Another brother of Phillip & George, was John (1860-1913) who married (1909) Jane Waldron (1865 - ?) again in Aghamore, and they have a son John,George b 1912 - current, my cousin. I believe that these Corr brothers are related to Charles Corr & Bridget Masterson from Gortletteragh, Leitrim who raised their own Corr family in Corglas, Longford - although I cannot find any direct link/info between these Corr brothers. I believe my grandfather George,Joseph was born or came from Corglas, Co Longford. Charles & Bridget had c 10 children between their first born NORA (4th Dec 1891) and James b 13th March 1908. In between, they had a George Corr 17th Feb 1904 - Nov 1992, who married Mary Kate Jones in 1931, and they raised, so I believe, their own family in Corglas, Co Longford - again one of whom is a George who is now a priest. Another piece of unconfirmed information, is that Phillip, John and presumably my grandfather George, were all retired from the RIC, and/or British Army - having served / stationed in Bermuda or West Indies somewhere ? Finally, there is a story that the other two siblings, Joseph & Nora, ran off to America. All my Corr family seem to name their first born son George, and their first born daughter Teresa or Nora. I have come to a complete blank, and cannot find any record of my grandfather or his relations in Roscommon, Longford, Leitrim or Mayo, and would greatly appreciate any info or assistance anyone can give me !!! thanks, Niall, George CORR * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * This message is confidential.
