WHERE ARE THE EARLY RECORDS OF TULSK PARISH? In 1980 I wrote to the parish priest of Tulsk Parish asking for information on my Healy family. Enda Farrell send me the date of my Great Great Grandmothers birth and christening, dated 9th April 1836. The record gave her parents as Joseph Healy and Bridget Murray. He also sent her marriage record to Patrick McDermott on 11th November 1852. This was a great find and proved that the records existed prior to 1865. On a number of other ocassions I sent for additional information concerning sibblings and the marriage of Joseph and Bridget, but never heard back. Since then I understand Enda Farrell has passed away. Unfortunately the early parish records for Tulsk parish seem to have been misplaced. The Stokestown Heritage Society only has records from 1865. Does anyone know where the records of Tulsk parish prior to 1865 are located? I would be very greatful for any help in this matter. The letter I received from Enda Farrell showed the following: "Tulsk, Castlerea, Co. Roscommon, dated 24 June 1980." In the letter it sates that "Mary Healy" . . . was "baptized in the Church of St. Fidelena & Ethna Tulsk" . . . .
