Hello all, Got a couple of questions for ya'll... Can anyone on the list tell me why there were so many deaths by drowning? Also, I think I missed out on some of the first volumes Rosemarie has so graciously submitted---What year do these begin? Working from this side of the big pond, in Woodstock Ontario, is not easy at times. Trying to verify facts collected from various sources is "trying"! It would be of immense help if some kind soul in Roscommon had pity on me and could provide me with some assistance. I am dealing with the following family - MARTIN O'BYRNE , likely a farmer, likely married in the Parish Church of Boyle, County Rocscommon, to Mary Jane Bingham. Issue - I only know of one and cannot imagine there was only one - her name was Mary Jane O'Byrne - born 22 Feb. 1851. (Roman Catholic). I know absolutely nothing about her parents. This dau. married Thomas Young 21 Oct. 1869 - Parish Church of Boyle - not verified, he was a corporal in the 89th R.I.Fusilliers stationed at Athlone. Where is that? His father was a policeman - Joseph Young. The dau. was educated at Visscountess Lorton's Seminary - Errarona, Roscommon. Where is that? This dau. had an interesting life, married 3 times, two of her husbands dying in service in 89th in India. I have this history and an interesting one it is. Caan anyone help? It would surely be appreciated, I would pay any mailing costs for photocopies or documents. What I would be thrilled to find would be descendants of Martin o/Byrne etc. Thank you for reading this Dave Platt At 06:26 PM 13/06/02 -0700, you wrote: >Hello all, >Got a couple of questions for ya'll... >Can anyone on the list tell me why there were so many deaths by drowning? >Also, I think I missed out on some of the first volumes Rosemarie has so >graciously submitted---What year do these begin? >TIA, >Jan Hogan >----- Original Message ----- >From: rosemarie vogado <rvogado@surfree.com> >To: <IRL-ROSCOMMON-L@rootsweb.com> >Sent: Wednesday, June 12, 2002 8:36 PM >Subject: [Roscom'n] Newspaper extracts Athlone Volume 4 Part 28 > > >> ATHLONE VOLUME 4 Con't >> > DEATH Mr. McHUGH & Patrick MARTIN drown .pg 395 >> >> Ed MARTIN narrowly escapes drowning .pg 395 >> > > > >==== IRL-ROSCOMMON Mailing List ==== >??
