I'm new as well; sure hope someone answers the question about Roman Catholic church records in Elphin parish. I looked at the LDS microfiche, 989743 as I remember, but it is very difficult to read and gives very little information. I'm researching PATRICK HIGGINS and ELLEN MCDERMOTT, married 1853, daughter ANNA 1854, daughter CATHERINE (Katie) 1859, son EDWARD 1864, emigrated 1865, daughter MOLLIE born in Red Oak, Montgomery, Iowa but must have moved immediately (not in 1870 Fedeal Census there), then lived in Hamilton, Hancock, Illinois 1880 -1884. Don't know anything about Patrick's Mother, Father, siblings. ELLEN's Father's name was EDWARD MCDERMOTT but don't know where he lived opther than Co Roscommon. Pat pinetreelabs@earthlink.net
