Still on the search for my elusive Farrells. I am looking for a Farrell family who had at least 3 brothers. Their father's name was Michael Farrell. The 3 sons were Lawrence, Philip and Thomas. They were all born in the 1820s and emigrated to the US settling in Newark, NJ. Thomas eventually went to Massachusetts where he died in 1897; however, he is buried back in Newark, NJ with is brother Lawrence. Any help out there would be appreciated. Judy in NC

Looking for the ancestors/descendants of the following Farrells. Lawrence Farrell born about 1827 who has at least one definite brother called Philip Farrell, born about 1823. They both emigrated to the US settling in Newark, NJ about 1848. Lawrence married a Mary Selby(sp) and Philip married a Catherine O'Neil. There is a possibility that the other siblings in the family are Thomas Farrell born about 1825, Catherine Farrell born about 1833 who married a John Queeney and lived in New Jersey and a John Farrell who married a Bridget Devine. John and Bridget lived in NY near Albany until he died in 1870 when she retured to NJ. Catherine and John we know are sister and brother. They are either siblings to Philip and Lawrence or cousins. Any help would be appreciated.

Would like to exchange information regarding the McDermotts of RATALLEN. My great grandfather Patrick Joseph McDermott, along with many of his Brothers and Sister, immigrated to New York in the 1880's and 1890's and left behind many of their family including a Sister ANNA and a Brother HUGH. Anna died in 1954 and Hugh in 1955 on the family farm in Ratallen. Neither Anna or Hugh had any children, and none of the brothers or sisters that stayed in Ireland had any children. Hugh and Anna had a number of cousins of the McDermott and Beirne surname that may have records concerning the McDermott's of Ratallen. I would be extremely greatful if anyone could help me locate any of the family that still reside in the Ratallen area or anyone who has information on this family. Would appreciate hearing from anyone on this request. Thanks, Brent
WHERE ARE THE EARLY RECORDS OF TULSK PARISH? In 1980 I wrote to the parish priest of Tulsk Parish asking for information on my Healy family. Enda Farrell send me the date of my Great Great Grandmothers birth and christening, dated 9th April 1836. The record gave her parents as Joseph Healy and Bridget Murray. He also sent her marriage record to Patrick McDermott on 11th November 1852. This was a great find and proved that the records existed prior to 1865. On a number of other ocassions I sent for additional information concerning sibblings and the marriage of Joseph and Bridget, but never heard back. Since then I understand Enda Farrell has passed away. Unfortunately the early parish records for Tulsk parish seem to have been misplaced. The Stokestown Heritage Society only has records from 1865. Does anyone know where the records of Tulsk parish prior to 1865 are located? I would be very greatful for any help in this matter. The letter I received from Enda Farrell showed the following: "Tulsk, Castlerea, Co. Roscommon, dated 24 June 1980." In the letter it sates that "Mary Healy" . . . was "baptized in the Church of St. Fidelena & Ethna Tulsk" . . . .
