I am going to pass this on to a cousin for the Carney connection..Kathy
I am new to this list and I will be looking at the archives in the next few days. I am researching Coleman and Regan from Roscommon. Supposedly the Coleman line and possibly the Regan line originate in Ballaghadereen when that was part of Mayo but left the town after it was part of Roscommon. My ggrandparents on the Coleman side are said to be James Coleman and Mary Carney. I feel that Mary may have been Mary Margaret and went by the name Margaret. The Regan side ggrandparents were James Regan and Bridgit Gilligan. If anyone can help with these people I would be greatful for the smallest assistance, Thanks Virginia ----- Original Message ----- From: <IRL-ROSCOMMON-D- request@rootsweb.com> To: <IRL-ROSCOMMON-D@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, May 23, 2002 9:00 PM Subject: IRL-ROSCOMMON-D Digest V02 #40
Hi Tim, I can't help you much with your questions-----sorry but I did note the surname MURRAY, in your sig. line. By any chance, do you have MaryAnne MURRAY, who m. Edward C. REGAN, in Boyle, on June 23, 1862? Her parents were Patrick/Thomas (I lean toward Patrick) and Margaret MURRAY. Margaret in Nevada, USA

Frenchpark sits at the centre of a rough cross pointing N.,S.,E. and W.Boyle is 7 ml. to the North, Castlerea 7 ml. to the South, Elphin is 10 ml.to the East and Ballaghaderreen is 7 ml. to the West. You can purchase Discovery Series Ordnance Maps of the area, #s 32 and 33. You need two because Frenchpark is near the edge of #33 so you also need #32 to see the western suburbs. Athlone is south of Frenchpark but you may also want to try WestMeath. Happy hunting, Tim --------------------------------- Do You Yahoo!? LAUNCH - Your Yahoo! Music Experience
Hello Thank you so much Eileen
Good Evening Roscommoners, Can any kind soul give me a boost. I am searching for any good Roscommon sites with my surnames.....or research being done on past residents and workers of the Lloyd or other Estates in Roscommon? Trying to fill in the blanks of some wonderful old family letters that say my Martin McGarry, Michael's Noonan and Egan (all cousins), worked on an Estate as boys from Frenchpark, Castlerea area @1880's for 2 cents a day. Think it may be Lloyd's. Thank you for your time and happy hunting, Timothy McGarry from CA searching Coll, Carney, Murray, Murat, Beirne, Egan, Sharkey, Noonan, Brennan, Casserly, Murphy (Redmond?) and McGarry who emig. from Frenchpark - Castlerea area in 1890, NY, CT to Orange, NJ --------------------------------- Do You Yahoo!? Athlone is about 17 mi. SE of Rosscommon Town. Castlerea is about 17 mi. NW of Roscommon Town. Frenchpark is about 7 mi. N of Castlerea. Sorry, I don't know the name of the RC Church in Frenchpark or Athlone. Hope this gives you some help.
Think it is in Co Roscommon, near Elphin, between Roscommon and Boyle. ----- Original Message ----- From: <Gmceileen@aol.com> To: <IRL-ROSCOMMON-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, May 21, 2002 12:36 AM Subject: [Roscom'n] Frenchpark > Hello > Can someone tell us is Frenchpark near Athlone? > What is the name of the R. My Hagerty ancestor was married in the Roman Catholic Church in the Parish of Aughrim circa 1847. Their Townland was not listed on the marriage record. Can anyone suggest resources which might help me locate the Townland? Thanks, Pat
