The son of Joseph aka Jacob Switzer and Mary Ruttle/Ruckle, Benjamin that you mention is probably my Gt Gt Grandfather and was the eldest of ten brothers. Their names were: William - lived near Bolton Ontario John Joseph Reuben Harvey - lived at Palermo, Ontario Thomas - had 9 or 10 boys Bartholomew - lived at Blanchard Ontario Daniel Christopher - lived at Streetsville Ontario Some of the above settled in Manitoba and in Carberry area. Benjamin was born in 1809 in Ireland and died in 1885 in Hanover Canada. This information comes from a book written by my grandfather Harvey Alexander Switzer. He refers to his gt grandfather as Jacob Switzer not Joseph. He also mentions that when he died in Ireland a messenger was sent to Benjamin but he wasn't interested in the estate (said to include Blainey castle) because it was entailed. We have been unable to confirm where this was. I hope this helps someone out there and maybe someone will be able to add to it yet more for me.
