Everyone discussing Caspar Ruckle, can I interject a note of caution as Henry Z. Jones does when he says: "The emigrant may be the "Kasper Rutsel" recorded with his wife and 1 child in the 6th party of Palatines in Holland in 1709 (Rotterdam Lists): or he may have bee the "Kasper Rigell" registered with his wife and 1 child in the 3rd party in Holland that year (Rotterdam Lists)." Namely, WE DON'T KNOW which is Caspar Ruckle -- if either one is. In fact, not all Palatines in the 1709 emigration have been accounted for. Not all were listed, and nobody knows for sure how many there were. Estimates vary from 10,000 to 30,000 individuals. It's easy to accept the Rotterdam Lists as proof that Caspar immigrated with a wife and one child until you consider that Sebastian would have been 30 years old in 1709. I doubt that he would have been listed as a child then or that Caspar and his wife waited 30 years to have the other six children in Ireland. Please, don't anyone take offense. I've made entries in my own database that sound plain silly when I think about them.............Karen
