    2. Judy I made another trip to your keepsake book website and checked out the Piper page. I noticed you had Elizabeth Piper married to John Ruttle. I was wondering if you could give me Annette Piper's email address or ask her to email me. I would like to know where she got the information that Elizabeth was a child of Jacob Piper and his wife Christiana. I have no other information about my 5th great grandmother except a copy of the Rathkeale Register showing their marriage: 1754 Jly 23 RUCKLE, John, of ye Parish of Nantinane & PIPER Elizabeth, of ye Parish of Rathkeal A couple of years ago I asked Terry Piper if he had any ideas on Elizabeth's parentage. She wasn't listed in "The Palatine Families of Ireland" in the Piper section. She was only listed in the Ruckel section at the bottom of page 104. He wrote me back and said: "Your Elizabeth is interesting - I think no-one has much on her. She, of course was born before the Rathkeale registers began to be recorded in 1742. By elimination, she has to be the daughter of Jacob (eldest son of Hans Peter, the original immigrant). I say this because Jacob's brother John also had a daughter Elizabeth (b. 1749 - m. Adam Dolmage 1766 Reasonably, we could assume that your Elizabeth (Thomas' mother) was born between 1730-35, so almost certainly in Kilscannel/Kelleheen/Rathkeale where the family was based. I had the good fortune to visit the original homestead (Piper's Cottage) when I was there a coule of weeks ago. It now looks a bit like a holiday chalet, but Austin (who owns it) wants to replace the new slate roof with a thatch like the original - except that that would cost about L10 000 and needs renewing once a decade... I took some photos anyway - I'm rather sentimental about things like that. My father sold the holding in 1940, but I would so love to own it. Ah, well - we can dream. I hope one day to piece together all the Piper line and have already gathered much material., but there's a long way to go yet. I shall soon be contacting Piper addresses in North America and the Antipodes, which Austin passed to me. But ANY information you could offer would be extremely useful." I hope that Terry has found a lot of new information on the Pipers...I have found records on a lot of Pipers in Maryland region recently. I figure that the Piper's who were in Baltimore were cousins of the Ruckles in Baltimore or maybe even aunts and uncles. You can see that I really need help on my Piper line trying to authenticate Elizabeth's father...I hope that Annette Piper might have some new information too.. Thanks, Carole
