    3. Hi Lists, (multiple posting to IP, IRL-WEX, WEX) I have been reading "People make Places" again and I have discovered a previously missed footnote that sheds some glimmer of light on my prior concerns about the lack of official documentation about approved settlements or migration from Kerry, Limerick or Tipperary and the relatively small size of the group of Palatine settlers in Co. Wexford. The notation related to a letter published in "The Irish Book Lover" November 1951 from J.G. Rhynehart. The letter opens with a quote from "Notes and Gleanings relating to the County of Wexford." Martin Doyle [Dublin, 1868]. "A colony of Germans, who had been shipwrecked near Arklow, many years ago, was benevolently located on and around Old Ross, by a member of the Ram family, who let forty acres to each family." The letter goes on to lament the lack of identified documentation and appeal for assistance in researching this area. I believe that this J.G. Rhynehart is John George Rhynehart, 18 Feb. 1895 - 29 Aug. 1978, born in Parish of Templeshambo, Co. Wexford. (my 2nd cousin once removed) Being the son of Robert Rhynehart 1856-1934 & Susan Tulley 1855-1938. My records indicate that John married Francis ? about 1920. They had two children: Robert John who died as a child and Victor, born about 1925. I show Victor married Elizabeth Wilkinson about 1950. (this would fit in with his father having time to research the family). If Victor and Elizabeth had any surviving children they would now be in their fifties. As historical works on Ireland at a county level are few and far between in Australia, I would like to find Victor, his children or anybody else who has researched this area to determine if John was able to glean any addition historical data related to early Palatine settlement in Co. Wexford. {I am able to copy the Irish Book Lover article for anyone interested but unable to access it.} Brian Rhynehart. Canberra, Australia.
