All this digging so far is on my mother's side. My father's side has one branch going to the Palatinates - with the families of Link, Krafft, Empey, Schultsin, Eligh and Weiss. This branch settled in New York Province (pre 1776), but I imagine there is a good chance my mom and dad are related, very distantly. If only all the records had the maiden names of the wives, the web would be even more tangled than it appears now.
