Hi, Can anyone out there in the wide, wide world tell me from where I can obtain a copy of Brandt's History of the Ruttle Family ? It would be a great help as I continue to research my wife's family history. Hope we may see some of you on the Pfalz tour in a couple of month;s time Derek
I have a copy of "THE RUCKLE FAMILY: HIstory and Descendants of John & Martha Ruckle", Ann H. Brandt, Editor published in Bloomsburg, PA, July, 1986. Is this the book you're interested in, or did she write another? Most of the information in this book concerns descendants of Balthasar Rockel who was born in Germany in 1707 and died in Shoenersville, PA in 1800. Balthasar named his son Melchior. Put these two together with Caspar Ruckle who settled in Limerick and you have three wise men. I've always felt that there is a connection between the two families somewhere back in Germany. However, no one has found the link so far as I know. This book does contain some Palatine history in the front and a little sketchy information on a few Irish Palatines (all Ruckles, all in the USA) in the 2 page addendum at the back. I don't know where or whether you can obtain a copy of this book, but I'm willing to do look ups...............Karen
