Hi--I am a newby to this list --researching Shier,Switzer,Teskey,Delmage and the variants of their names. We were very surprised to find our Irish ancestors were from Germany and went to Southwell Estates circa 1709 so it has been a very interesting research. Re Ruckle--I have a Katherine Elizabeth d/o Daniel Ruckle married to Johan Christopher Schweitzer(Switzer) circa 1711. Katherine born circa 1686 Three children Margaret 1743 Christina 1747 Catherine 1749 Hope it helps. Pat
Hello everyone Is anyone researching the Ruckle or Ruttle surname in Tipperary? I have a John Ruckle married Eliza Cooke in 1845 Kilcooley Parish, Tipperary. I believe this family lived at Newpark. Hello Kim Though I'm not reseaching the Ruckle/Ruttle surname, my Switzers came from Kilcooley parish (lived at Newpark too) and knew the Ruckle (I think it's Ruckle) family. I visited the area 18 months ago and met the Rev in charge of the parish. She was very knowledgeable and has a lot of the parish records. She did a lot of work on the Switzers for me and for others. For a very small fee, I'm sure she would be pleased to help you. I'll find out from her if she'll let me give you her e-mail addrees. I have quite a few piccies of Kilcooley church and the area and I do remember seeing some Cooke gravestones there, though I'm afraid I didn't take a piccies of those. I'll post them if you or anyone else is interested.
