O' Connor is an excellent read on Irish Palatines. It covers in depth the history behind why they left the Palatinate and the settlements in Ireland and the names of some of the families who lived in the various settlements. Most fascinating for anyone who really wants to understand the whole picture of our ancestors who were Irish Palatines. > > I ordered it via interlibrary loan. > > Thanks, > > Pat Uffenorde( Switzer, Reish, Rinehart--Irish Palatines on my pedigree ) > > > ==== IRL-PALATINE Mailing List ==== > List Administrator: > Susan Laursen Willig > IRL-PALATINE-admin@rootsweb.com >
Yes, Patrick O'Connor does mention Fitzelles and many more of your Irish Palatine ancestral names. It would be wrong to expect to find more than passing genealogical details here, but the fascinating story is excellently covered by an award-winning author and professor of geography. There is more genealogical detail (generally up to around 1800) in Hank Jones' "The Palatine Families of Ireland". Both of these books should be on the shelf of any researcher with serious interest in their Irish Palatine roots. Both can be purchased through the Irish Palatine Association - see their website www.irishpalatines.org Ken McDonald England Teskey@BTinternet.com
