Amazingly, I had the pleasure of meeting Walter Ruttle last week at the IP Heritage Museum and being given the grand tour of the area. What a wonderful human being! My 18 yr old son and I spent nearly 4 hours with him. There is no one who chuckles like Walter! And he is so filled with information that I feel most fortunate to learn from him. My encounter with Walter was due entirely to Sheila at the museum, who ran into him and told him I was there. She was most helpful in finding materials for me, and I enjoyed meeting her so much. The Ruckle and Stark info was more limited than I expected, and all of us descendants might want to pass along our findings for the files. The one question for Walter which is so obvious and that I neglected to ask is how did the name in Ireland become Ruttle? Does anyone know the answer? Also, I had not seen the Irish Palatines booklet by Dudley Levistone Cooney, in both German and English, published in 1999. I think the price was 6-7 euros. This is a wonderful publication, in case you have not gotten a copy. I think that it is such a user friendly piece that even my non-genealogy interested family members would value it. My best to all.
