Hiya Helen! Welcome to the IP list. It takes time to wake us up here, we're a bit like Brigadoon sometimes. Once you get everyone going they chat away, however. I do not have any Hesse in my lines and can't help you with yours, but there are individuals on this list who are fairly well versed in the Palatine's unique history in Ireland who can probably help you. What do you know about your Hesse line so far? My Palatine family name was Neazor (or neiser or naysor etc etc). There are no Neazor's left in Ireland that I am aware of! They settled around Rathkeale to the best of my knowledge and my ancestor came to NYC in the middle of the 1800's. I'm having trouble getting any further back on him, but I hold out hope. If you have any specific questions fire away. There are some pretty knowledgeable people on this list! Have fun! Liz
Hi, Liz... while working in Brampton, Ontario back in the late sixties my boss was Walter Neesor... VonNeesor - he got upset if anyone used his "Von" part - because he was a German officer throughout the war. Wonder if he was any relation way, way back to your Neazor's??? Funny the things you remember on a wet Tuesday afternoon, isn't it? Marilyn in Lindsay, Ontario
As there seems to be some new people on our mailing list perhaps I could put forward our MILLER family who were in Rathkeale. I have had information that they too were a Palatine family Anyone out there with links to this name? Regards.
