Greetings from New Zealand. Perhaps there is someone out there who should shed some light on my SHUELL family surname. My research finds Edward SHUELL b in Oldbury, Worcester, England 1849, later life traced to Sunderland, Manchester and Birmingham, England. His parents are thought to be Alfred SHUELL and Matilda ..?.. Edward SHUELL and his wife, also named Matilda came to NZ in 1911. It appears there were SHUELLS and are SHUELLS in Ireland, and I find from research that a family of SHUELL in England came from Latvia. Could this be a Jewish name?
