I like Chris's idea of a register of Irish Palatine family "specialists" (rather than "experts", for I don't think many of us could claim that title). Perhaps a simple medium for recording such a register would be a page on the Irish Palatine Association website, www.erin.ie/ipa The site already has a number of links to Palatine name websites, and I would like to expand the number of links. It would be good to also provide e-mail addresses for any specific family "specialists" who would be happy to be contacted. I worry a little about how fully or promptly I and others are able to respond to questions, so some sort of "disclaimer" may be appropriate - perhaps along the lines: All of these specialists are unpaid volunteers. The time and resources available to them for answering questions will vary. They will endeavour to give a prompt initial response, and where appropriate will indicate how soon and how fully they may be able to give a more considered reply. I have responsibility for moving the IPA website forward, and I expect to announce the implementation of some other improvements to the site soon. If anyone would like to be included on the IPA website in a list of such specialists, could you please drop me a note with your name, e-mail address, specialist family, subject or subjects, and perhaps a few words about the scope of your personal interest.
